Don’t forget your Photo ID!
Wisconsin state law requires that you present a valid photo identification prior to receiving a ballot. What qualifies?
- Wisconsin Drivers License
- U.S. Passport
- U.S. Military ID
Want to avoid the lines – or, planning to be out of town?
- In-Person absentee voting: Two weeks prior to Election Day local clerks will be accepting walk-in voters. Please check with your local clerk for specific dates and hours.
- Mail-in ballot: If you are registered to vote at your current address, you may cast your ballot absentee by mail prior to Election Day. Requesting a mail ballot is easy. Simply log on to the MyVote Wisconsin website and follow the on-screen instructions.

- Clerk’s Office – you may register in-person at your municipal clerk’s office up to 20 days prior to the election
- Polls – you may register to vote at the polls on Election Day
- Online – you may complete the online registration form on the MyVote Wisconsin Website
Regardless of how you register, you must provide proof of residency along with your completed registration form. Proof of residence documents must include your name and current residential address.
